The Data Protection, Secrutiy and Privacy (DPSP) in the Cloud cluster is a group of an EU-funded projects with key objectives on data protection, security and privacy in the cloud. Following on from the successful formation of the cluster, and first meeting in October 2015, the cluster is now holding the DPSP Workshop 2016 in Napoli (Italy), on Tuesday 23rd February 2016.

SLALOM project wants to share with the European Research & Scientific Community some lessons learned from bridging research, EC initiatives and ISO in SLA standardisation. It is now important to follow and include these advices when elaborating new proposals for the next H2020 Call.
These DOs and DON’Ts were formulated by the SLALOM consortium based on our experience working with research projects, ISO and EC initiatives in the course of the H2020 SLALOM project.
SLALOM takes the goal of filling the gap very seriously. We are in talks with various research projects in order to get their vision of Cloud technologies and also to push our findings in technical SLA aspects. Contributions have been, so far, very important for the project.
This is the list of projects that are either both contributing or being helped with SLALOM practical approach to SLAs.
SLALOM ISO Liaison approved
Several SLALOM members attended the ISO cloud computing (SC38) meeting in Dublin 5-9 October SC38 approved SLALOM’s request for a liaison relationship with the cloud SLA working group (WG3), subject to final ratification by SC38’s parent committee JTC1.
SLALOM presented its first version of the legal and technical reference model at Hola Cloud Conference: From Distributed to Complete Computing in Pisa. During the event we had the chance to share with the audience and engaged with other technical experts to initiate collaborations and contributions to mainly improve our technical baseline. It was also relevant the expectactions of SLALOM approach to ISO standard on Cloud SLA.
SLALOM initiative wants to facilitate the path towards simpler Cloud SLA. Our team has gone through an initial phase in which we approached and gathered the feedback from involved stakeholders. We now want you to have your say! We are now starting a public consultation to improve our results on Cloud SLAs and Contracts.
SLALOM will be present at ICT 2015 Networking Session: 20th October at 16:00 and 21st at 14:00 talking about Privacy, Certification and SLA for Dependable Cloud. Come learn about legal and technical aspects of Cloud Contracts, and also take the opportunity to talk with our legal and technical experts at these events to learn more about our free baseline to cope with Cloud SLAs. We will also welcome your comments if you also want to have your saying in the consultation process that we just opened.

Get started with the legal aspects of Cloud SLAs with SLALOM Master Service Agreement (MSA)
SLALOM promises to deliver an initial baseline to practically address Cloud SLAs, specifying the structure of what a Cloud SLA should have: an initial wording of legal terms and providing a technical specification (metrics, parameters, rules and dependencies).
